WE NEED YOUR HELP PARENTS!

We have several boxes of Popsicles we need frozen for Saturdays meet. If you can stop by FPR and pickup a box or two it would be greatly appreciated. We will need the boxes brought to Saturdays Hay Bale meet for the athletes.

FPR SPEED host the largest club meet in the state of Texas we need your support!!!

Parents and Volunteers we need your support in hosting our annual cross country meet. If you can help Saturday, October 7th with this event please comment on this thread listing the area you would like to support.

Race Day Meet Location: Spring Forest Middle School 14240 Memorial Drive Houston 77079. (You must turn on Memorial Greens Road to reach the back parking lot. **Please Note: If you do not arrive before 7:00AM the officers will not allow you in the back lot and you will have to utilize one of the many other lots in the area.

Point of Contact: Report to the registration booth located next to the long jump pit (You can’t miss it.) Look for Coach Brandon

1) Course Setup: 6:30AM-7:30AM Hay Bale Setup, ground flag placement, rope-off the infield of the track. (If you have a pickup truck that would be a great help as well.) 

2) Cours Monitors: 8:30AM-12:00PM monitor integrity of hay bales (Keep them stacked and re-tie if needed) direct runners onto the correct race paths, make sure runners dont cut paths, report any injury to Medical Staff. (Staff Vest will be Provided) Recommend bringing a travel chair.

3) Starting Line Monitors: 8:30AM -12:00PM patrol the boundaries of the infield reminding spectators not to go under or over the roped off areas. We will have security present as well. We need additional staff as constant reminders.(Staff Vest will be provided)

4) Awards Booth: 8:30AM – 12:00PM assist with setup and breakdown of awards area,  distribute awards to finishers, escort athletes and coaches to the Interview both areas, mainly our runners who medal or teams that are awarded. (Staff Vest will be provided)

5) Finish Line Crew: 8:30AM 12:00PM  Distribute water to finishers and guide them through the finish line chute. Help runners who collapse/lay at the finish line towards the water and to a safe zone. (Gloves are recommended if you dont want to touch sweaty runners)

6) Breakdown Crew: 10:30AM  Pickup pennant flags, post, discard of pennant rope, pack hay bales into onsite pickup trucks, breakdown canopies, sweep the area of trash. Typically very little trash.

7) Packet Pickup: 6:30AM-10:00AM Assist with registration, protest, packet fulfillment (Safety pins, wristbands, etc..)

We are all ways in need of a pickup truck and a golf cart. If you have one or both please contact Coach Brandon***
